By following Jesus’ example, we are striving to create life long disciples that develop a growing relationship with Jesus through engaging teaching, authentic relationships, and Spirit-led experiences.
“This project is for everyone—no matter your age or stage. Faith development is a lifelong journey, and while it looks different for each person, we all move through similar stages. Whether you’re raising kids, discipling others, or exploring your own next steps, this plan and our resources are a visual representation of how Catalyst can partner with you to grow in a deep, lasting relationship with Jesus.”
-Kayleigh Edmundson, Family Ministry Intern, Summer 2025
God knows us and intentionally created us with a purpose.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14
Examples in Jesus’ life: Prophecies Jesus has fulfilled. (Isaiah 7:14, Micah 5:2, Isaiah 53)
God has revealed Himself to us and we have the opportunity to learn and develop a relationship with Him.
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:22-24
Examples in Jesus’ life: Jesus at the temple as a boy, he grew in wisdom and stature. (Luke 2:41-52)
God has provided us with the gifts of salvation and becoming children of God when we choose a personal relationship with Jesus over sin.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
Examples in Jesus’ life: Jesus’ baptism. (Matthew 3:13-17)
God has given us the Holy Spirit so that we can slowly become more like Jesus (sanctification). This is done by growing in our faith through trials, spiritual disciplines, community, and teaching/discipling others.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” 2 Peter 1:3-7
Examples in Jesus’ life: Temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11), Jesus calling the disciples (Matthew 4:18-22, John 1:35-42), Jesus teaching others (Matthew 6 among many others), and Jesus praying in the garden (Matthew 26:36-46).
God has given us the gift of eternal life which means that when we die, we get to be with God.
“Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’” Luke 23:43
Examples in Jesus’ life: Jesus’ death on the cross. (Matthew 27:45-50)
One day God will give us resurrection bodies.
“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling” 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 (especially v.1-2)
Examples in Jesus’ life: Jesus appearing to others after the resurrection (John 20-21) & Ascension (Acts 1:6-11).
